Dammit. The car looks good but I like the seats in the 9 more than the 10. Fitted stereo systems usually aren't that good, so we may have a problem there. The gauge on the dash looks like it maybe a boost gauge and I think those wheels are BBS.
I think I'll be tradin my 8 in on 0ne of these, Very Nice, Looks like mitsu is banking alot of there future on this car. I'm sure it will also evolve into something much better in years to come.
First, that's not automatic. It's a sequential gearbox shown there. Rumors say the Evo X will have either this tranny, or a 5-speed manual.
Second, that's not a boost gauge on the dash. From close-up pictures it looks like an analog clock/stopwatch with an LCD insert. However, I'm sure that could be removed and our vendors will get creative with new pods that could be seamlessly added there for boost, A/F, etc.
I like the overall package presented here, but I'm not convinced the X will be worth the higher price tag unless it is truly a leap forward in performance. I guess we'll see in the coming months.

i believe the gauge on the dash is actually a stopwatch.. and the navi screen replaces the whole stereo head unit... i think this is a big improvment over the previous evo.. dont know about performance or ease of modding tho... cant wait to see the production model
The exterior looks like a Mazda6. The steering wheel looks like it came out of the Civic Si. I like the red stitched Recaro's in the IX SE/MR SE more. I don't like the built in dash stereo of the X. I was really hoping that the gauge on the dash was a boost meter. I hope the X has sick performance. I still like the looks of the IX hands down. For $40,000 I'm not too sure I love the X yet. I could be jealous though.

I love my IX. The X looks too "evolved" and I feel has broken off too far from the evos of old. Maybe I'll grow to like it, once I get used to it. Definitely not love at first sight.
I guarantee this car will look mean as hell in person. Photos rarely do a new car justice. I was thinking the fender flares were not very pronounced but, seeing it from similar angles as the IX they look to be just as aggressive.
I'll take mine in black with no wing maybe just a little lip spoiler on the deck lid.

It looks pretty good. Not as aggressive as the concept, I rather like the fender flares. Still a nice overall package. I doubt the lap timer and the seats stay. The seats in the IX look better to me anyway. The head unit area will probably change somewhat if you look at the base lancer pictures there are some shots of the nav unit. I love that steering wheel.
Three things I wish they had done on the Evo X.
1. Either frame the existing intercooler better or put in a larger one. I dislike all the space around the IC.
2. Put black vents on the hood. The black hood vents have been a defining look to the Evo. I miss them on the X.
3. I love the black carbon fiber on the top of the VIII and IX spoiler. It adds a great and unique look (especially with the black hood vents). I also think it is a defining look of the previous Evos.
I think the Evo X is OK as is. I dislike the color so once I see it in black or gray I may like it better.

I like the IX better, and not only because I have one. I'm not a fan of the styling. Maybe it'll grow on me, but for the time being the 9 wins. Plus, I hate that the X does not have a manual trans. That takes the fun out of the car...
