Just curious what peoples take on the new standard Lancer is. No one has commented on this topic and the dealerships have started to get them for a few weeks now.

"So Has Anyone Bought the New Lancer Their Out?"

wtf?

I drove one with CVT yesterday and my only gripe is the ludicrousness of faux gears they pretend to have.

Any CVT should have two options; sport, and economy. Economy should stay out the most full efficient RPM continuously, and sport should stay at the peak HP RPM in the powerband continuously.

It's like they built this car for retards.

Honestly, their whole tranmission concept gear towards the uneducated, kinda like this guy above me 0o/

Easy killer, its a simple question and you partly answered it. So you diden't buy it. You obviously test drove it because you were either going to buy one or were curious how they were, WHICH IS THE POINT OF MY POST!!! Your A**hole comments are going to effect the future Lancer owners calling them uneducated. This site is not only about the Evo.

So did you drive the one with the paddle shifters. Was the car a DE, ES, or GTS? I looked at a few earlier today just to see what siting in the new evo might be like and I was fairly impressed with the overall fit and finish of the car. The dash and door panels dont seem as cheap and even when you close them they sound more solid. I didnt take one for a drive but They had one beside a Gray IX SE and the car looked a little taller in the back but the front seems like it may be lower more of a wedge design. Should have popped the trunk to take a look. The ES seemed nicely equiped for 17K with an auto and nice audiosystem. Just my 2 cents.

I've seen a couple on the road, including a white one and damn I must admit it looked pretty damn good. It's a vast improvement over the previous base lancer models. I've never really given the thumbs up to a regular lancer owner before, but I did that day. Seriously I believe the EVO X when it comes out will be an extremely nice looking car on the road.

Yup, more than a handful of owners already on the forums and posting in the 08 Lancer section. Plus, a couple companies are already making parts. Evo guys may want to keep an eye on that, since many parts being made for that car can be used on the upcoming Evo, especially the carbon fiber stuff that RRM is working on.

Nice car. I think the rear looks nice. The wheels looks great for an OEM. Don't really dig the front bumper, but there's nothing an aftermarket kit will not solve.
I wish you the best in your new dream home.
