Jeez Jeff you sound a little bitter here lately. I'm holding out until I actually drive one to comment. I don't think anyone owns an Evo due to it's "great looks" and "top quality" interior.

I was actually hoping they would keep that clock there; I had heard that it was a built in lap timer system, similar to what comes in the 911 turbo now I believe.

I like it. I wonder if it will be possible to ad like a 2 or 3 guage pod in the center with the boost guage.

Not bad I guess. Can't say I'm a fan of the fact that they don't have a true manual anymore. Those damn paddle shifters just **** me off. Yeah, its probably easier to drive. But that just means that now not only some pro can steal my car, but so can my girlfriend... Anyway, I really don't like the look of the gauge cluster either. The car isn't bad I guess. It looks more futuristic and whatnot, but for it being so hyped up, I'm not impressed. I WANT MY MANUAL WITH A STICK!!!!

If noobs bothered to read a little more carefully they would know that the X will also come in a 5spd manual in addition to the 6spd SST.

Them removing that was one reason I decided not to wait for the X. It's actually an analog and digital stopwatch, very very similar to Porsche's "Sport Chrono Package" option and IMO a very nice feature to have.

That and the decision to get rid of the alcantra dash was a mistake too.

Not a big deal (because "it's all EVO underneath") but still would like to see more interior options, gauges, short shifters, dask light colors--my wife had tons of fun ording a Scion just because that. Yeah, an xA is only styled to look "fast"...but the choices allowed her to customize that car the way she wanted...Scion even offers a CAI option.

The primary reason to switch to a DSG type tranny isn't because it is easier to drive. It simply shifts WAY faster than any human with a manual possibly could. You can still shift any time you want - you just do it a lot quicker and a clutch pedal isn't necessary because one of the two clutches is already engaged no matter gear you are switching from or to.

There is a reason many transmissions that are starting to come out that are based on race-car transmissions. You can not like the fact that it's easier, but they simply offer more performance. I don't see how you people can dislike something that offers more/better performance just because it's easier to use.
