Biggest problem with Evo X styling...
Its hard to really judge a car without seeing it in person but all the recent pics of the Evo X production version show, IMO, one huge styling problem that really affects the look of the car.
Go to some of the pic threads and take a look at the rear fenders from all the angles you can. For some unknown reason they look fine towards the back of the car and get wide enough over the wheel/tire but then right around the rear door handle it suddenly goes down at a sharp angle instead of slowly tapering off towards the B-pillar like Evos have since the VII came out. This looks totally wrong to me and pretty much ruins the overall aggressive and mean look of the car.
Looking back at the original Evo X concept/prototype it had old Evo IV,V,VI style fenders which looked great. Personally I love the look of the Evo VI, maybe with a bit smaller headlight/foglight deal up front, but the rest of the car including the fenders look great and I'd love to own a VI someday. I know they wouldnt and shouldnt put 20" wheels on the production Evo X but man that concept/prototype looks super badass.
I'll admit the change they made with the fenders on the Evo VII is a cleaner more upscale look and it can look great like it does on the VII, VIII, and IX and plenty of other performance cars. But with the X theyve gone halfass on the production version at the rear and it looks terrible. Maybe there is some packaging or other reason Mitsu felt they had to do this but it should be easily fixed.
Maybe some of you out there prefer the looks of the X as they are but it seems like things are split 50/50 from all the posts. Subaru has fixed some styling mistakes with the WRX -basically all the post 2001 WRX's are hideous as far as I'm concerned though, esp the latest version and the upcoming hatchback
-hopefully Mitsu will make some changes in the next year or two. Ultimately I care much more about the performance of the car but this seems like such an easy fix that would really help the way the X looks.

Hahaha, it's his first post and he's already complaining about something. Is that why you signed up?
So you don't like the fenders on the X, who cares, you have the VIII, so enjoy what you have.

i also dont like the design. But many people drive 07 lancer and they think design is cool. Hate when new lancer come up to be and rev their engine. What are they going to do against evo?
saw tons of new lancer with factory lips. Is that standard or option?
Only thing I like about new X is stylish rims and cruisecontrol

That car makes me sick, i know my opinion doesn't matter to anyone. Like claudjrh said.. it kind of looks like an EVO mix w/ a TL. It looks just a little too sophisticated (im sure i spelled that wrong). To me, idk it just doesn't look like it would be fun to mod. Sure the EVO looks a little boy racerish.. but to me that's what makes any great modding car fun to mod.. supras..s2k's...evo's...etc.. You dont see too many TL's that are modified, not that it's a bad looking car.. but it just looks like something more civilized.. and i think the same goes for this
