Thumbs down Some Photoshop work on Evo X

Evo X is a real disappoinment for me after Concept-X and Prototype-X, it doesn't get better from this, I think. It does have some real serious design problems and i feel it looks like grandpa's car. Just look at pic 1 and see what it should be and what it will be.. Do you see any similarity between the Concept-X and the last 2 frames of pic 1?? No.. Park this car in front of your house and neighbours will think you've bought a $10k budget car (an ugly, fat *** budget car)

Pictures 2-5 are what I could do on Photoshop but it still does not look agressive nor like an Evo. I think I will wait for the XI. Shame on you Mitsu.. If you wouldn't take any of design properties of Concept-X, then why did you spend time making that concept? I can't believe both designers of Concept-X and the ones who put amber turning lights onto Evo-X are under the same roof.

If I were the manager, I would first fire the guy who came up with the "AMBER" turn signal idea on Evo. It's 2007, not 1977.

well first off i will say i agree with you about it being a dissapointment...but you have to realize there is not one car out there that looked like its concept....concept cars are used to create hype...thats all

Even mirrors and headlights of Prototype-X would make a positive difference but it's seen on first official photos that Mitsu didn't care about this. Maybe a saving for the next make-up..

they are flared just not to the extent of the concept, just compare it to regular lancer and youll see the difference

you complaint about the amber turn singals is not vaild, because US law mandates, that they are that color. Its not so much as a design issue, rather a law issue. After looking through your pics, and comparing the similarities in the concept x and production evo, i would have to agree with the guy that said, that it was going to be 95 percent the way the concept is and its exactly like that. Its far from a grandpas car, yeah, it dosent quite look like a toy car any more, but then again, most of the people that can afford it are looking for a mixture of both, not at one extreme or the other. I really like your photoshops and to me, its not what the x looks like stock, but what kind of potential it has. I already have lots of mods in might that will make it look just the way i like it. the evo looks more classy now and i love the direction they are taking there cars. The nav system that is going to be offered is better then the one currently offered by acura and infiniti. Great job on the photoshop once again, but i couldent disagree more about the styling of the new evo.

I have tried to create a more coupe-like feeling with the black roof, and that also resulted in a panoramic-glass roof as in the new C-Class. Not an Evo thing, but did look nice & different on that car also (IMHO).

Honestly, the similarities are still there, I don't know what you're talking about. Everyone knew that the LED headlights/fog lights/turn signals weren't going to make it into production, they put those on the R8, S6, etc, on those cars they can afford to put it on because of the price tag. Another thing is everyone complains about the Evo X's fenders how they aren't flared, but there was another post which completely pointed out and said that the Lancer GTS was wider then the Evo IX/VIII, and the Evo X was another 2-3" wider, so I don't how you can argue that the fenders aren't flared/wide enough. I'm sorry about those chops suck, ricer wheels and tinted tails FTL. About the amber thing, if you didn't know it was a law by know then you should seriously give up, and you act like its not in the Evo VIII/IX head lights, its there and even bigger, so be thankful Mitsubishi made it smaller, so you won't kill yourself by the time you save up enough money to clear it (or ***** to bake and open the head light to clear it)

Where's this change from the Prototype X to the Evo X that people are bemoaning?

Only three things changed:

The vents through the front bumper were brought inwards where they would ACTUALLY DO SOME GOOD. With them as wide as they were on the Prototype X, most of the air they bring in would go around the intercooler.

The headlights, though they look cool, WOULDN"T HAVE WORKED. I'm sorry, but we don't have the technology for LED high beams. That's reality. The evo still gets Projector lows, and the highs and turn signals (Which aren't the amber lenses) let them use the same wiring harness and saves MONEY. The amber on the sides are reflectors which are mandated. If you dont' like them, pop the lenses off and remove them. With the turn signals moved to the headlight housing it left room for FOG LIGHTS. That's a good thing.

The mirrors... Ok, I agree there. The ones on the Prototype X looked good, they were certainly big enough, and the high turn signals, though not mandatory, are kinda neat. I wish they hadn't gone with the Lancer's mirrors, but oh well.

But in all, everything is the same. The fenders, hood, roof, spoiler, rear bumper, etc. I do not see where the big styling changes are that make people say "I liked the Prototype X but they ruined it for the production model."
