early 8s had an open diff up front, therefore they are really 3wd... the 9s have a lsd up fron so they are true 4wd... i'm sure there were late 04 8s that had front lsds, but for the most part, open diffs up front... get it?

Doesnt having a front open diff mean that both wheels go at the same constant rate (power & torque)???

I assure you it will have a front diff. They are not gonna spend tons of money on sawc and not have a front diff. Plus the car is able to send power to 1 wheel at a time if nessacary, so it would have to have an electronic diff up front as well. (ayc)

 

No car is all wheel drive. There is one sitting in the trunk not been driven, it is called a spare.

 

So 2003-04 are 3rd wheel drive and 05-06 is awd!?.
