Evo X Road and Track review

The Evo X gains momentum smoothly, almost too smoothly for hard-core forced-induction fans. Absent is the turbocharger surge that comes on at the 5000- to 6000-rpm mark. In fact, the 4G63 feels and sounds like a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder. Although the new car doesn't quite match the Evo IX's prowess in a straight line, it's quick nonetheless. It reached 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and dashed through the quarter in 13.8 sec.

I think Mr. Evo's cheese slid off of his cracker with this one.....I mean i understand great handling and all but that car will now be beat off the line by a 335i...if he had only made the car as quick from 0-60 and 1/4 mile as the IX was, and then put all the handling goodies on it then that car would've been a M3 killer....oh well i guess i'll have to wait for the X.5 or the XI....I was really hoping that this would be a great car.....I mean its a great car just not as great as the last
I guess its bad news if you want a 10 second quarter mile car (yet to be tested), but on the other hand it will be seemingly a great track car. But I guess the aftermarket will do the talking. I am just worried that some tuner shops may not be interested in it. Who knows. We will find out in the winter/spring.

Do yall feel the same way I do? Each year when a newer model sports car comes out it is always heavier than the previous models. Personally I think the X will not out do the IX. Then only car that I can think of that maintains its weight year in year outis the Chevy Corvette.
Interesting I guess it depends on what is more important straight line acceleration or all around performance. Guess the X is just as fast or slower than the IX, but handles and tracks better. But even with that said it still not a slow car, but to tell you the truth I was hoping for a car than handles better than a IX, stops better than a IX, and runs 12s@106-108mph. I guess we just got two out three. But the last one was pretty important to me.
Notice they had a definitely 3345 lb curb weight? Much better than the estimated 3500 we have seen elsewhere! They also said the X is more nimble than the IX, it doesn't sound like the weight is affecting it much except a few ticks in a straight line. I am willing to bet the boost isn't cranked up like the IX was and with a boost controller it will be just as fast or faster.

I'll stay my mouth pretty much shut until we drive them and we start installing some bolt ons. All I know is that my IX is faster than this thing in every way right now.
