IHI doesn't make TD05's, that is Mitsu nomenclature. IHI is best known for their VF series, they also have others.

If so, I'll pass, they breathe like crap on the Sti's. . . .and I highly doubt we could retrofit one of the Evo X turbo's on an VIII/IX. . ..look at how it's situated in the back near the firewall, the piping to fit it on to ours would be a nightmare!

 

Subaru's do use IHI turbos. They only "breath like crap" because they are smaller than our turbo. It has nothing to do with it being made by IHI, its just a tiny turbo.

Also, why would you need to put a X turbo on a IX, there are tons of other turbos out there for VIII's and IX, no need to only use a X turbo.

 

IHI is one of the best turbo amnufacturers in the world. Apexi uses IHI turbos on their kits.
