Why haven't the mags given us a solid review yet?

The X has been out for over two weeks. There is no serious review
from any auto scribes out there. Why haven't they ship
their asses over there to test and give us a detailed review?
All we got so far is a bunch of mush force-fed into the chubby
cheeks of the slow-poke scribes by Mitsu.

+1,
Some guys spot a silver and a red evo at S.Calfornia street with some special plate(not a dealer plate, but a DST plate), So they are here already may be for testing or something, I have a feeling that on Norvember, we are going to have real hp number and also price with option package.

I thought the reason why we haven't had any really detailed test drives is because the magazines haven't had an opportunity to really test a final production model. I think Mitsubishi was only allowing the magazines to ride a long, but not actually test drive it. The X is like 99% done, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out (such as final horsepower rating, which I believe will be just over 300hp).
I'm still trying to figure out what this "serious" review is you're referring to. Most of the posts in this forum over the past few weeks have been imo serious reviews. Most opinions could have been formed from those reviews. Now if you want someone to take it on the streets and flog it, well that hasn't happened because like 3000 said they weren't final production models. I think they are still tweaking it, esp. the SST models. Maybe by the time it hits the LA show, they'll actually let someone test it here.
You mean the evo GSR released into customers' hands were not final version, but trial balloons?!
It is also hard to imagine that Mitsu would prohibit any mag from going to Japan and really test drive a GSR on the street,
without Mitsu supervision.

No I mean the ones that the writers of all those reviews that you and many other people posted were not. None of those versions were the SST models, which still appear to be under development/tweaking/whatever. Who knows? I guess we're all waiting to see what Mitsu will end up with.
Relax....give it some time! How often do you think MONTHLY magazines are published. It's been out TWO WEEKS! Hardly enough time to get a review out. Not to mention magazines are probably almost a month behind for when the next issue comes out. So it's really a 6-8 week window that a magazine needs to get a story.
For instance....Right now in October, they are working on things for December's issue, not November. So for them to have an October review in October's issue is ridiculous!

The Evo X lineup dispite it being on sale via JDM isn't even finalized in Japan through all the trims (mainly the SST equipped models) let alone having a production ready USDM spec model equipped with SST all ripe & ready to rip up a track without Mitsubishi's supervision & pampering on the car.
Like many soon to be evo owners....we live in a now society. We want efficacy now...Japan pretty much shat on all of those people.
Actually I called up Mitsu Corp and told them to delay reviews until Nov...hell I might asked them to delay shipment over here.
