No hurry, I don't think I can effectively lobby them untill they annouce both the Sportback's existance and it's "for Europe only" designation.

I love it! I have no intentions of trading the VIII for the X, but this I would! In fact, like with the RS, if it was ever announced to hit US shores, I would walk down to my dealership the second it was officially on the way and put down my deposit.

I do find it funny though, everyone in this thread so far has said yes, I want it, please bring it here! But when the STi photos were leaked, I'd say 90% of the suby guys were disgusted. Different strokes for different folks!

Why does everyone think we hate hatchbacks, diesels or station wagons?

What I dont like is NASCAR, big trucks & SUV's!

If you bring it, it will sell.

Now... if I could get a diesel Evo in a hatchback....

I'm actually not kidding.

With that said I actually like this car a lot. Much better balance to it.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet... all we've seen so far are a couple of concept sketches which have a tendency to make things look much better then they really are. Remember the Concept Cx?

The pre-release sketches looked like this:

But the actual concept vehicle looked like this:

thats why i posted a photo of the concept, and not a sketch.

"The Sportback was designed in Mitsubishis Trebur design center (Mitsubishi Motor R&D of Europe GmbH), near Frankfurt, and is slated to go on sale throughout Europe in early 2007. But before you get disappointed, Mitsubishi Motors Europe CEO Tim Tozer says it was designed to appeal to multiple markets, which, in translation, means that a production version could very well include North America."
