Future of the Evo X in North America
I was thinking today about the future of the X. See, they already had the 2008, 2009 and now the 2010 model (I believe each model has 3 years). Will they still make new Evo X models in 2010/2011?? Or will they switch to Evo XI?
Part 2 of my question is do you think they will continue selling and making Evo's for Canada after the Evo X (given this being the only Evo model we had).

I don't see why they wouldn't continue to make the X for 2011/12. Even speculating about an 11 right now with A.) a lousy economy and B.) no solid evidence supporting the next "evolution", is completely out of the question. That is as of now, IMHO.
As for a new model and continued production for Canada, as well as North America, it all depends on the demand for such models. There were a plethora of '08's as of recently. NA never got '09's due to the overstock of 08's and economic downturn. As for 2010's even less (I've heard) will come to NA. So basically, it all depends on how the 2010's sell. I certainly hope the Evo continues to be sold everywhere and doesn't go the way of the Supra, S2K, Integra/RSX, 3000GT etc.

All those examples of discontinued import halo cars were 2 door coupes. The evo is more versatile and cheaper than all but one of those cars. It is still possible mitsubishi loses money on the evo, so I'd say to amortize the cost of develpoment, they stretch it out for a 4 year run...maybe 5 even.

I can only hope they continue for the next year or two as I'm getting mine next december. It would suck if all I had were used Evo's to choose from.

North America is not the primely market for the EVo. From the point of making the Evo really doesn't matter whats happening here.
So i dont think they will change the trend about the realese date and change's between models and model years.
As for Canada if the car sold good i dont see any reason to stop bring them there.
Of course this is my humble opinion.

All Automakers are dragging out the runs of models right now to stretch out the cost of tooling, etc. to try to make it through the slump and to judge the demand when they come out on the other side.

Nevertheless, I think that Mitsubishi's growth in Canada is a good sign for the continued sales of Evo's there.
As far as I know, they went over really well in Canada - definitely well enough to warrant the sale of an RS model!

I am guessing it will be something like that Noize.
That is how most cars are, release them, fix all the problems first then go out with a bang.
I would expect an XI next year for sure, or a X with some bigger changes than they had for the '10 models.
They always have projects that they are working on so there is something new they invested time into that they have to put into production to make money on it.
