I don't understand how you can not pay sales tax though, but maybe I'm just jealous. Only when I lived in Oregon (no state sales tax) did I get away with that. Do you have to go to the DMV and pay taxes there?
o-ya, got to pay sales tax. We pay at the DMV when you pick up your plates. So if you buy a car in Oregon you don't pay any sales tax at all?

if u order it now or sign it
u are legally bind to it and if theres better deal else where...your basically f**k....
You have a good point. I don't mind ordering if it will be here in a reasonable amount of time and they can tell me how much the accessories are. Right now I'm hung up on price with the dealership because they can't tell me how much the ss package is. I think they gave me a reasonable price on the car, but not on the ss package... and they can't tell me when it will be here. They are saying sometime between 4 weeks and as long as January. About ready to throw in the towel on the whole thing. The lack of information is frustrating... especially when everyone else already has their 2011 on display..

+1

It seems like you would almost always get a better deal this way. However, that does seem like a pretty good price for OTD.

For me basically what it came down to is I wanted a '10 for 30,200 out the door (not including tax). I also want one that has not been sitting around at another dealer that my dealer has portered here... I never understood why people do this. Just go to the other dealer. Anyway, I told them I want the car right off the transport truck. I want to do all the detailing. This has worked for me in the past. Nobody is going to detail your car better than yourself....if you know what your doing. So, what it came down to is mits is out of '10 gsr ww in port and they gave me the offer on the '11. That's how I got my price. On a side note they do have blk/white MR '10's in port available if you want one fresh off the boat.
They agreed to sell me the car for invoice, delivery in late november, got everything in writing and signed by the sales manager. normally i would not do a deal like this but i happen to like the people at the dealership. I went in several times before the deal and they were always very professonal, never any pressure or BS, they asked me if i wanted to drive an evo, i never had to ask. also they are about a 15 min. drive from were i live, so i knew if i bought from them and developed a good relationship, getting service or warranty work would be as painless as possible.

Just for clarification. OTD pricing includes vehicle price, any/all fees and sales tax. It doesn't matter where or when you pay sales tax. It still gets added onto the OTD total price. Just sayin'.

That's confusing. It's impossible to compare what everyone paying. Sales tax is different from state to state, some states have no sales tax at all. I dont have to pay sales when I pick up the car and walk out the door so, for me, it is actually my out the door price

I called my dealer two days ago after someone posted that and they said, "we have not recived any pricing from Mitsubishi yet" so I'm starting to wonder how reliable that info is.

Until mits releases information directly to the public I think anything a dealership tells me is highly suspect.

I really thought the price was going to drop by $500. -note the sti's drop in price from '10 to '11.

I was hoping the SS package (the old SSS) was going to drop in price significantly since it no longer adds the (third S) spoiler, but the dealer told me invoice dropped by $30.00.

So, ya, I agree with you.

That's why you don't quote OTD pricing (because the taxes are different everywhere). You quote what you paid for the car. Don't worry about tax/title/license or fees. Just say what you paid for the car and that's it. It avoids any confusion.

read your post/ what are you trying to say? "that's why you don't quote otd pricing, quote what you paid for the car, don't worry about tax...fees"

REally what i think you are saying is, Do quote otd pricing because taxes are different everywhere, don't worry about tax or fees to avoid confusion?

otd pricing excludes taxes and fees for me, that's why it's easier for everyone in the US to compare just the price of the car without taxes and fees.. for me i don't pay taxes when i pick up the car so otd excludes taxes and fees.

ya know, i wish i had these kinda deals when i was lookin for cars in the beginning of 09, the gsr and mr they had at the dealership here in MD/DE area were no less then almost 40k for the car otd, i mean silly prices for these cars, its why i settled with the ralliart instead. I just couldnt see how it was worth that much at the time, seemed way overpriced. Just because i know someone will ask, from what i remember it was 38k for the gsr, 45 for mr, that was beginning year of 09. i got my ralliart for 29.8k this includes MD tax(DE has no sales tax) and all the other crap the stealership tacks on there like the import fees and document and all that shenanigans. 30-32k for the gsr and i woulda been sold! now kinda wish i woulda held out, but the car was just so good lookin i had to have one. lol
