Here is a nice article I came across. Seems like the XI is switching to Hybrid Diesel power

Evo X is pretty good, even if they change XI to Hybrid Diesel - you can always buy an Evo X.
But i think whatever they make - we will follow.

Even if they do go this route look at turbo diesel trucks. They can be fast as hell and Audi has been running turbo diesels in some of their race cars for years. Just cause its a diesel doesn't mean it wont be fast. It just means you won't have to buy expensive **** iridium plugs

I think this would be moving performance compacts into the right direction. Considering stock you would most likely improve low-end tourqe and increase fuel efficency while not losing power up top. Likewise, the aftermarket for turbo diesels in compacts would boom (given more manufacturers follow suit). If the cars accept mods like the current trucks on the market an intake, TBE, and a reflash should net a 40-60% increase in power across the graph.

The only problem with diesels is the short power band and because of this the manual transmission will suck. If uve ever driven a diesel around a track u will know what im talking about. U shift more than u actually drive.

A lancer hybrid I can understand. But Evo and hybrid seems like an oxymoron to me.

It's because when we think Hybrid, we think PRIUS. I'm almost certain Mitsubishi knows what theyre doing(crosses fingers) and hope whatever Hybrid, Diesel, ETC they make will turn out great

Yes, and hybrids are heavy and diesels are heavy, hybrid-diesel = really heavy. not good.

the evo 11 is going to be an evo 10 with a face lift and a few other kinks ironed out just like the 9 is to the 8.
