From what I understood from the article seems so.They are stepping their game up awd option for Lancer and they are keeping the RalliArt which is some what of a plus.Mitsubishi wont disappoint with the XI.
I'm going to bet: if there's an XI in dealerships before 2014, it's going to be a mildly altered X.
But i really really hope i'm wrong.

Evo Will not be discontinued...
They Wouldnt Let the STI Dominate the market... It may come with an alternative hybrid or whatever BS...
All info from Head office has not said anything about discontinuation of the EVO.
Also Lancer and EVO will recieve a Facelift in 2013...so that says something right there.

There seems to be some semantics at play here. When they say 2013, it could either be interpreted as 2013 being the final year of this platform, or at the end of the 2012 model year, there will be a new Evo XI.
Subaru seems to be indicating that a new STi will be out in the summer of 2012 as a 2013 model. It would be nice if Mitsubishi did the same to coincide with the debut of the new Evo. If Mitsubishi could incorporate the hybrid motor to be something akin to KERS in F1, then we could expect some pretty good acceleration. Electric motors have tremendous torque and if coupled to the current engine, would provide excellent performance and fuel efficiency.
In any event, hybrid drivetrains are here to stay. Done right, they could be fun to drive.
