Turbo upgrade

I have a evo 6 it has bolt on, link ecu, cams ect. It made 238kw at the wheels on 20psi. Would like to make more power, I was wondering about upgrade ideas. I heard about putting on a evo 9 type turbo. Thanx

That’s a solid setup already! The Evo 6 responds really well to a few key upgrades if you’re looking for more power without sacrificing reliability. The Evo 9 turbo (MHI TD05HR-16G6-10.5T) is a popular choice — it spools fairly quickly and gives a noticeable bump in mid-range and top-end power compared to the stock turbo.

If you go that route, make sure your supporting mods are ready for it — things like upgraded fuel injectors, a higher-flow fuel pump, a good intercooler, and a retune on your Link ECU will help you get the most out of it safely. You could also consider E85 if it’s available in your area — the gains in knock resistance and power can be pretty impressive.

What’s your goal for the car — street setup or more of a track/drag build? That can help narrow down the best upgrade path.

I would start with at least a Ball Bearing FP Green or Red, I went Red and it is a killer street setup.
