matt, i can never get those vids to work for me. what did top gear say about the MR? which imprezza did they compare? which car won the shootout? thx.

 

Might be encoded with DIVX or XVID. Best thing to do is a grab a nice big codec pack, install it and then watch the vid.

 

It was a track race between the MR320 and the WR1...the Impreza went 3.4 seconds slower around the track than the WR1 (which understeered badly)...and was slower than the old FQ300 too...poor show by subaru...good show by MR.

p.s. the MR320 was 0.2 seconds slower around the track than the Lamborghini Gallardo...and ~5 seconds faster than the 911 turbo

 

oh, and 1.2 seconds faster than the porsche gt3

wow, 5 sec faster than a 911 TT??? was the MR on race rubber and the other cars on street tires or something? what did they say about the MR in terms of its performance compared to the old evo viii?

All the cars are set up standard, so the Evo had it's yokos A046's on. The MR was 3.4 seconds faster than the VIII FQ300, however they didn't do a test on the VIII GSR.

I'll try and draw up a small list (it'll only be of the cars inand around the Evo and Subaru)

 

yeah and there is a good quote,

"the sti is a good boy's car, and the evo is a good man's car"

you know all those tests, and guys go for the sti cuz it looks better.... well if i wanted a better looking fast car, i'd go for a e55 amg

anyway, sti is always been slower on the track tests, at least on that show... so... hats off to mitsu, except Mitsu america

It would be good if we could get the EXACT specs of the MR's suspension set-up, ie: where to get the specially valved Bilstiens, what springs etc...sounds like the MR suspension is far superior to our stock suspensions, and I do not want to go with a coilover set-up for the 4-5 track days I am planning to do per year...anyone have any info?
