For those who know, Mitsubishi Evolution is still transcending above the Subaru. and any other small block cars in the world.

. it's still gonna rock though.
The MR sounds great, but will Mistu be here in 5 yrs for my warranty? 2 yrs? And the way they covered up recall-level defects doesn't add a whole lot of confidence. I'm leaning towards STi...their clutches don't seem to be toasting left and right. Need to look at the big picture....

Not like the STI who fabricate their sti for North America Market from 2.0boxer (JDM) to 2.5 boxer (North American), the Evo still maintain 2.0L - 4 inline, namely WRC’s maximum cubic inch for the engine. However, through all that cheating, Sti only earn (around) 5-7Whp from the 2.0L Evo.

That's not cheating, U.S. isn't even a competing in the WRC. I think Mitsu is using the 2.0L for the EVO because 1, it's proven; 2, they probably don't have the money to r/d another motor for the EVO. 5-7 peak WHP might not sound like a whole lot, but it's the power band that counts.
Who cares if U.S. isn't competing, Mitsubishi and Subaru are and there the one who built the cars. Mitsu has given big engines to their SUVs and they can just move it over to the Evo and get a lot more horsepower out of those engines. But Mitsu doesn't cheat and keeps the Evo with a 2.0L.

Anyone happen to notice the model and picture? It appears to be an RS.
Weight is 2921 lbs (1325 KG x 2.2046 lbs to Kilogram = 2921). Stripper '03/'04 Evo 8 (no sunroof) is 3263 lbs. That's a 342 pound difference, 10.5 percent in weight.
But this isn't the MR. The difference between '04 RS and '04 evo is around 120 lbs (no sunroof).
If the difference is the same the MR to RS, the new MR should be approximately 220 lbs less than the current '03/'04 evo, or approximately 3040 lbs, just like the Sam Mitani article in the first R/T edition of Speed said, (3085 lbs).

now, I don't know how many of you have been keeping up with all the news about Gran Tursimo 4, but they took a real race car driver and a real car and did a run at the Nurenburgring. (sp?) Then, they took the same driver and the same car in the video game and they were .2 seconds different.
That being said, I imported the "prolouge" version of GT4 and it has the MR and the STi in it. I took both cars on the same track (once I got to know the track) and the STi was 4 seconds slower. Granted I didn't run it perfectly with either car, but there was no way I could have made up 4 seconds on this track. Also, the STi and the MR were obviously the JDM spec, but as far as I know the JDM STi was faster than the USDM version stock vs stock.
(BTW there was a fair amount understeer under WOT with both cars.)
I am trying to get the replays that I saved of the MR on all the new tracks captured on my computer, but I have no way to host these huge files (3-5 min each, and there are 5 tracks) If anyone is willing to host, let me know
