down payment - 05 evo MR
ok...if the mr has the same basic engine and you upgrade the turbo, how is it going to yield more power!? fill me in here...what is sooooo different about the engine itself besides the nicer turbo
Just has a few bigger more powerful parts thats about it...Some other stuff to, a tad less weight not much to brag about... Check the Future evo model forum, there is alot of info regarding stats and stuff throughout the handful of posts there.
I didnt mean to offend anyone when I said I'm glad I didnt jump on the O3 evo bandwagon. Im a huge fan of the 03 evo 8 and if i had the money at the time, i would have bought one slightly used. the bottom line is....
After much thought, I've decided to buy the evo MR. Why you ask?
my top ten reasons:
1) i have a good job, i can afford to buy an evo mr
2) i love the color combo, i love the bbs wheels (if i bought an 03 it would have been black and i would have put a similar bbs rim on the car)
3) i've owned a 95 tsi talon, and a 98 eclipse gsx, 94 3000gt, i feel this is my natural progression, im frimilliar with the 4G63 engine, if worse came to worse i could rip the whole engine apart and put it back together without a hesitation
4) im a car nut, not just an evo nut, i feel this car is the most refined car for the money
5) i like the way the evo8 drives, with a six speed and some more power im sure the evo MR will be just as pleasureable to drive
6) i live by two great dealerships who wont charge me over MSRP, and will service the car regardless of how much i beat on it (which i dont plan on doing)
7) i feel the resale value will be higher then most cars in its class, i plan on keeping the car until i get sick of it and can afford somehting better
8) life is short, its what i want
9) the deposit i put down is fully refundable, if i dont like what i see, if i dont like the MSRP, if i dont feel like buying an evo down the road, the dealership will refund my money, no questions asked
10) the 1987 buick grand national i have now is plenty fast (in a straight line), but its out of date, it wont corner, you gotta put good gas in it if you wanna go really fast, im looking for a more well ballanced car...and an automatic
the 3000gt i have now is great, its comfortable, all and all a $36,000 car with only 40,000 miles however.....its not fast enough for my taste, its too heavy, its gorgeous, but i'd rather have a 2900lb car over a 4000lb car
if they do ever bring the evo mr to the US, i would like to be one of the first to have one.

other improvements are bigger cams, tuning, etc. Nothing that you can't bolt on engine wise, but other things that would be way to expensive to retrofit that some of would like to have in our cars. ie: ACD, different ABS tuning, etc.

you gotta be a moron to think that an aluminum roof (-12 lbs) and lightweight BBS (-4.4lbs) along with aluminum bars can save you 400lbs

I have, aluminum would have to be over 1/4" thick to equal even close to the weight of a steel roof. cut one off of a car some time and let me know how that goes.
