hey guys.. has anyone actually weighed there RS model? ive searched and seen people stating a difference of "88lbs" but has that been confirmed off a dealer lot?

I have read 88 lbs as well, but also 146 lbs in some magazines. Here is a quick list of everything the RS drops and a weight estimate:

40 AC components
10 Stereo and speakers
5 Wing
10 Rear wiper and resevoir
10 No HID
10 No ABS
12 No power windows (estimating 3 lbs per window motor)
10 No power door locks (also includes keyless remote reciever)
2 No power mirrors
1 No map light
1 no vanity mirrors
2 No assist straps (what are these?)
12 No trunk trim and carpet
3 Thinner rear glass

Add all of that up and it is about 130 lbs. I think there is a possibility that the base Evo RS is 146 lbs lighter, but with the urban jungle package it only saves 88 lbs. Please correct me if I am wrong.

 

Doesn't look like the urban jungle package is an actual option in 05 because AC and power door locks and windows are standard equipment on the RS model.

 

MMNA quotes 3175 lbs. for the '04 RS, down from the GS-R's 3263 (3321 with sunroof).

The '04 does have A/C standard. Who knows what the '05 will have.

Assist straps are passenger assist handles on the roof for the passenger to hold when they get scared or when they're getting in and out of the car

There is no Urban Jungle package. Like I said, all Evos have A/C. So the RS will not be able to get power equipment.

 

BTW my RS has A/C and 3 Assist Handles. I don't know if there are other assist handles that are in the GSR

Hmm, Mitsu says the RS comes standard with power windows...

Has anyone weighed all of the AC equipment?
