scewed by my dealer on mr order

just wondering if any dealers in the n.e. have a graphite gray mr avaiable. i was told by my dealer (Justin at Otto Mitsu in Clifton Park, NY) that when i placed my order on may 15 that i had the first car they got and that it would be gray. i gave them a deposit on july 1 and confirmed again that i would get the first car and that it would be gray. well, i get a call last night from justin who says he has good news. he just checked the mitsu web site and he is getting another mr allocation, the only problem is it's silver. i asked what happened to the first car and he told me another individual put a deposit down before i did so he was getting the fist car they get, which is graphite. the part he didn't know is that i know the guy through a third party and he put his deposit down after mine. so now i'm looking for a graphite grey mr on the east coast. contact me if you have one available.

If you have this on paper (contract) it should be binding with a deposit. I hope they wrote 1st car with the manager or owners signature at that time? Good luck.

This is the BS that put me on the "wait and see" versus "deposit" route considering my MR purchase.

in the interest of fairness, i want to inform the board that after many complaints and some phone calls by me and others who apparently have some influence, the dealer and sales associate listed above have put forth a good faith effort to resolve the situation and as of this afternoon have been able to locate a graphite car for me that is scheduled to be delivered with their first allocation. as of this morning, i was convinced that such would not be the case, however, they seem to have come through for me and while i still believe something happened with the car i ordered, the situation as of now has been remedied. i appreciate the support of those who replied to this post and i also appreciate the efforts of the sales associate and others, including members of management at otto mitsubishi who have made good on their original promises.

legal-z's second post sounds like it was something written by the dealership --- "post this on that message board and we'll find you a car, or else we'll sue you for libel."

What a bunch of tards....Mitsu dealers suck (except for the ones with folks on this board, of course).

Glad it seems to be working out - we all are paying close attention to unfair practices.

just so we're all clear, my second post was about 4 hours after my salesman called me in the middle of my work day and told me they had found me a car. no threats of being sued, nor am i worried since i'm an attorney and am well aware that the truth is an absolute defense to any defamation suit. i'm just happy i got my car since the day i was told the original bad news was the same day i made arrangements (incuding taking a deposit) to sell my rx-7 and was going to be without my sportscar without a replacement which i had been assured was coming. thanks for everyone's support.
