i was reading the changes to the mr from the 8 and they said they dropped the waterspray intercooler for the ACD packaging. what is this and its still gonna be intercooled right?.

 

Yes its still intercooled. The watersprayer was just that, it was a system that sprays water onto the intercooler either manually or automatic

 

Only engine change i believe is going to a 10.5 housing instead of our 9.8 which is where they gain the extra HP and torque. Besides that and the ACD which i have heard both yea it will have it and no it wont so i guess we will see. Only thing i would be intersted in is the ACD or Front LSD which would be nice. The front LSD should slap right into our 03 GSR but might have some problems with the ABS. To me the MR isnt worth the money and all the hype but to each his own i guess. Personally i would rather have the first EVO to enter the US market.

Im not hating on any Mitsu. I love the Evo to death. As far as the hype of a ACD, Bigger turbo, different suspension, different rims and a Vortex generator, there is no difference. Besides a MR emblem. But are you saying that im not intitled to my own opinion? For the money that you will pay for a MR is about the same as i have into my car and i put down over 500whp on a Mustang AWD dyno so how does the MR compare there?

Anyway back to the people that are not FLAMERS!! like i said MR is a great car. In my opinion its not worth it. In others opinions it is. Just what you like i guess.

dang man you shouldnt hate on yourself being a flamer and all relax Anyway I dont understand where your coming from. The estimated price is around 33k which is a pretty darn good deal for what you are getting. You kinda of sound like a rice with the normal line, " for that money I could have 1000hp honda civic instead of an MR." Better base car = more potenitial power.

 

LOL this is great. Do you understand what a ricer is? What a waste of my time. Oh ya be expecting more like $35K with dealer markups since they will markup over msrp. And how many ricers you know that have 35K into there car with no stickers or aluminum wings or anything. Anyway cant wait to see some MR's in action i love that gray color!

Don't forget the Aluminum roof and 6 speed. Not sure if you put those into account. Personally, I think it's a good deal if it does come for 33k. This seems really good though, not sure it will be so low. The MR is pretty much almost fully loaded on options too, guages, pedals, shift knob, etc if thats worth anything to anyone. I think it is safe to say there is a definite advantage over previous models but it is a great thing to have enjoyed an Evo since it's hit our shores.

All 05s will definently have ACD by the way. They probably won't have AYC though. So far MR will not have any engine changes over other 05s.

The MR will be marked up and it will be marked up high that I can promise you. 1000 units in one year= mark up and crazy people running to get it. The MR is a great buy for first time EVO buyer but its no way worth the trade in. 6 speed is not better for rally car (known fact). I like the other things but I won’t trade my EVO and loose 10k just for couple things. The MR is faster than our EVOS but I am sure it will require much more maintenance. Great car not for every one though.

no, the evo mr won't be intercooled. mitsu has decided to drop the intercooler for the acd.

 

Doesnt the ACD (Active Center Diff) have to do with the drive train? And if so, the car would have to be intercooled b/c there is no other way to lower the discharge temps of the turbo?!?

Not sure I undestand but if you're saying there won't be a vortex generator, that is incorrect. There will be one on the MRs.

I still haven't read anything that has convinced me that the MR will have any engine changes that the other 05s don't.
