Shop around. You have a phone right?
The problem is that I cant really shop around because all of the MR's are sold already.... My dealer was lucky with 6 and they are all sold already... one of them to me if I want to pay the mark up..

seems like all dealers say "We have already sold 5 of them and there is only one left." I say lets see what is left at the dealership a month later. Not sure if anyone remembers, but I got kicked out of Barret Mitsu (ATX) for trying to convince the dealer the the EVO was not a limited production car.. "Once they are gone, they're gone." Yeap, I am sure. Glad I waited though.

I don't think you can avoid it. If there are only 1000, and they are all already spoken for, that means that the demand is there. And there are plenty of people that want one/will want one when they arrive. Some people will pay the mark-up if that's the only way they are being sold. It's supply and demand.

They will mark it up for sure... just don't know how much... but some people are still willing to pay the additional markup... like stated above... the best thing is to wait couple months for the "MR wave" to cool down...

Regardless if they mark it up or not... I am almost positive it will be sold at a MSRP of 33,000-34,000. I dont believe this car will be marked up above 35 though...If it is they will loose business to Subaru. Mitsu cant afford to make stupid mistakes.

If the car sells they'll make more IMO. But i'm pretty sure they'll meet demand if its a hit. Mitsubishi knows that the WRX STI is easaly obtainable, they'll make the MR just as easy to get.

But hey if the 1,000 units is true and they're all spoken for, I'll just buy the competision. Sorry Mitsubishi.

The car just isn't worth that much imho. If they mark it up $4/5k you are bumping up on $40k... If you can wait I'm sure there will be some languishing on lots...

I have a $2000 deposit on an MR, and they will not charge me over MSRP.

eh? paying a mark up is freaking crazy. i wounldnt mind paying for the msrp, but i rather not. its not a big deal to me wether i get the car now or a yr from now cause id be saving money and put it down for a big down payment. besides, by then alot of bugs will be worked out and more mods will be readily available. if not, i just have to buy a used one for a lesser price. i wouldnt mind the engine and clutch abuse either. the engine will be pulled and sent to ams and the clutch will be replaced with the twin carbon clutch kit anyways. heh heh. dont buy it right away. buy it after a few months. say 12?

Where do you keep getting your info? Everyone else (Road and Track, Motor Trend, Mitsubishi) says there will be 1000 coming over the first year.

Is that a guess? Supposedly there were people paying those numbers when we got the standard Evo. Now they are bringing a limited edition MR here (1000 units). I think they will sell for more than that. And the major magazines estimate the MSRP to be around $34,900. They are usually pretty close.
