Colant temp 96c is it okay ? using Power FC

Colant temp 96c is it okay ? using Power FC

Hi, I have the Apexi Power FC on my 05 MR. Is there a way to control when the fan ckicks in ?

The newer versions lower the fan to 85 degrees. Apex insists that the original setting (100 degrees I think) isn't a problem. I am not an engineer and can't argue the point, but they are not in the business to blow up cars and are one of the bigger jdm parts houses.

They should change yours if you send it to them, but it may take a while. I sent mine in and had it lowered. I live in Texas and would rather be safe.

I'm not sure about the Apex Power FC. But coolant temp should be lower than 205 degrees Fahrenheit. Thats high for the fan to be set at .

96 celsius= 205 fahrenheit.

85 celsius would be more like it which is 185 Fahrenheit

I think that the fan should be set to turn on at 180 or 185 fahrenheit.

Thats just my opinion.

96C or 205F is plenty cool. Head warpage occurs around the 110C+ or 230F+ range.

What Version of the FC unit are you guys running ? (can be found under one of the displays on the Commander unit)

get a fan controller....set the fan temp to your desired figure....this shld help...
