Justin,

Cool i am glad we pinpointed the problem. When you sent me the email about your ecu being flashed, i literally jumped off my seat and called you. Shoot me an email or call me.

BSREVOLUTION,
There was another thread /poll in here about dynoflashes of somekind in combo with the UTEC. The majority of people had problems including me. I got the p0300 relash and it was like wow...that made a difference. Good to see you feel it running better. Let us know on the tuning once again.

Looks like you fuel is jumping right there. Check your map and smooth it out a little bit in that area. I think this could be causing your problem.

If i cant figure this out, my new gt-35r was a waste of money. The 550cc's wont be enough fuel. I will be leaning alot more out tommarrow and re-logging.

I know alot fo people have had trouble tuning the UTEC with a GT35r. Alot of people have had to switch to the the AEM for speed density. It is posible the UTEC is averaging something in your map to get that 3.5. What is in your map at 5-5500 in 40 60 and 80 load points. Or if you don't mide post up you whole map.

Yea, i see it too. I start in the 100% and work my way in. 18 pounds boost 100 octane. I like good fuel when tuning. A little insurance. Today was just trying to get 11 AFR and ran out of time. I still think my stumble at WOT is more that 1 or 2 % in fuel....

It looks like it was averaging the fuel map from 60% 5250 and one of the 80% -2 Look like it might need a little more smoothing. I would just work on the AFR and then once your map is set up try and smooth it out if it is still happening.

The UTEC "Tweens" cells, in other words, if the RPM is somewhere between two cells, or between two load sites, you'll see it.. But between load site cells the values are generally very close so you'd typically not see that.

Yeah your going to have to smooth that map a bit so it doesnt suddenly jump value between cells.. you'll "Clean" up alot of your drivability glitches doing that.. especially if you are "Skipping" load sites due to really fast airflow ramping..

The biggest problem with big turbos and the UTEC, really isn't the UTEC, its the MAF.. the very high airflow rate seems to be troublesome with the stock MAF.. plus you have to deal with the factory ECU's "Learning" of the tip-in throttle which takes some time to adapt. A big turbo is just troublesome for any MAF based solution, you end up with needing to run higher idle to increase vacuum, especially if you have cams.

I definitely recommend doing some research on a blowthrough setup if you have a big turbo since going to a standalone just to get speed density features isn't always the best way to go if you don't want to spend umpteen hours making minor adjustments for drivability.

Personally, when I see the tradeoffs people make when they go with a big turbo, I feel more and more comfortable with my decision to stick with stock-ish turbo setups.

Anyway, it *IS* possible to get everything to work well, it just takes time, the biggest thing that happens is that you tune the car, and feel the drivability is terrible, but we forget that it takes a day or two of driving to get the ECU to relearn the changes and for the drivability to "come back" on a standalone you would be making these adjustments manually.

Ray,

I just returned to work in observation of the Good Ol Reverend Martin Luther King.

Looks like you are having some issues with your fuelling. As well, have you forgotten about my recommendation to use a map sensor for load with larger turbochargers. This will allow you to have a smoother transition through load sites and keep you from getting all pissed off. Also it should be noted that by boss drives the Evo with the GT35r with the maf in the stock position every day and he loves it. Also your max hz for mapping is way too low. 1800hz on a gt35r is nothing. If you bump your max to a higher number you'll have slower transitions through load sites as well.

Good Luck with Tuning Bro.

Thanks,

Jermaine~

P.S. Remember tuning isn't always easy!
