Tuner vs. Tuner Pro
I just ordered a UTEC and now it is time for a tuner. I have searched but did not find too many opinions on this topic. Is the pro worth the dough? It seems like the basic tuner would satisfy my wideband needs and I do not see how the extra knock sensor and other bells and whistles would be too helpful. From what I understand the OEM sensor is a good piece. Any opinions on The tuner vs. Tuner pro?

I have the Tuner Pro.. Most won't find the additional knock sensor, or data inputs and outputs of much value so saving the few bucks to get the Tuner is probably a good idea.
If you are like me, and have more than one car, and actually use the other data inputs and logging features in the Tuner Pro then its worthwhile, but if its to be perminently mounted in an Evo, then I'd say stick with the Tuner.
Here's the Caveat.. If TurboXS finally gets the EGT sensor out for the Tuner Pro, and updates the firmware so EGT, AFR, and other input signals are output to the same log that the UTEC logs out to, then the Tuner Pro would be worthwhile.

the DTEC at the moment has a nice display but has some shortcomings..
Plus be aware that if you run the UTEC, Tuner, AND DTEC, you can end up with 3 map sensors, 2 RPM inputs, 1 extra TPS input, 2 knock sensors, 2 EGT sensors..
All of these units need to be aware of what is already there and utilize the data from their peer.
I really like the DTEC, but I'm finding that its difficult to find a good unobtrusive location for the Gameboy interface thats easy to see, at the moment it doesnt have any true logging or editing capability, not to mention if it did, you would need to be able to write and read the Maps, params, and Logs somewhere, but there's no memory card to save it to... etc..
I really don't want to be too critical of the DTEC because not all of its outstanding features are released yet, but for it to truely compliment the Tuner and UTEC, it needs to share more data than just the AFR..
