First logging run

This was all done in 3rd gear, about 17psi because of the cold.

I didn't do the free air calibration when I first got my sensor, on idle it shows 14.6-14.8 which seems correct so I didn't bother. Should I still do it?

Here's a little trick if you can calibrate the 02 while the car is moving. Go in 4th or some high gear and go up to some mid rpm and then let off the throttle until the ecu engages dfco. Then you can calibrate your 02 sensor while it's still in your bung.

I really don't think that there is a need to calibrate a brand new sensor. If it is showing around 14.7 at cruise it should be good. At least that is what I have been told by Al from Dynoflash. What Map was this run with? You should really run it up to 7K or higher for a log run.

This doesnt appear to be a map.. its all ECU passthrough or its a Map without any timing or boost control values..

In any case, if this is a passthrough, and your boost is manually set at 17psi, definitely has very conservative timing, and your never hitting any load site over 60.. Which is actually pretty normal considering your running 17psi of boost.. But your car probably feels pretty weak..

Anyone notice that at 2800-3000rpm the car seems to be around 1 degree AFTER TDC?? I've never seen that before on a WOT run...

What mods do you actually have on your car besides the UTEC.. I've never seen an airflow pattern like that before. Plus you have a weird intake airflow anomoly at 4852rpm kinda like your DV opened and recirculated just prior to that..

BTW you shouldn't have to worry about the calibration unless the sensor is old, or isn't reading 14.7 or so when cruising around in closed loop (at idle some cars read a little rich but should over around 14.7 most of the time)

YOu didn't make a full run to 7400rpm or so.. so its hard to tell what your high RPM looks like, but your correct in waiting until you get your wideband up and running..

Well in the last thread you told me to make a few runs in the pass thru, so thats what I did. The only reason we didn't take it in the upper rpm band is that we kinda ran out of road, and we were coming up on the spot where I got my wing ticket. I finally got another laptop to use solely for the utec so I should be putting up more logs soon.

My mods consist of
264/272 cams
AEM intake
TB exhaust
pro-1 header
UR IC piping

Ok... I talk to alot of people so I had a brainfart.. This is the first time I had seen the MAF results like that, likely due to the cams and lower boost.. Once you get your wideband setup, you'll be able to make a few more runs and we'll be able to suggest some settings..

Your mods are fairly similar to what many of us are running, so if the car feels good in stock mode (passthrough) you'll be pleasantly surprised with the gains once you start tuning.

Damn, there's that anomoly on yours too.. Damn, alot of ECU timing at where you should be getting peak boost..

Its interesting to see how different these cars are..

my car ramps up so fast, i might have to start doing 4th gear pulls. I just hate going that fast on the streets. All that timing is on map 0 which ime assuming is the TXS background map. Or is it factory ECU??? I dont know, but I HIGHLY recommend HKS 272/272. I have no stalling issues and idle is only slightly choppy to where it sounds like an old lumpy big cam v-8, which i happen to like. DRYAD: lets see another one of yours with wideband... RRR

Yeah thats your Factory ECU doing that.. It blew me away, but likely because the MAF readings are so low (20% lower if you look at the modified MAF output)

I like the lope on the cams too, I haven't installed them in my car but I tuned two cars with 272's.. one had them straight up, the other had -4/-1 It was actually more difficult to get the staggered timing to run and idle right than the 0/0.. The staggered timing seemed to load up and swing wildly between rich and lean, more than my car with the blowthrough MAF did..

Hey Jack, if i have my 780's scaled, by the way, 650cc was perfect to scale the 780's, Can i still run MAP-0?? or do i have to go to map 1 and stay there?? The documentation is way to LEAN!!!! Ray

Do you think anomaly is showing because his car is running super lean at peak boost? Mine used to do be very lean too however I didn't notice MAF drop but I had to add sh1tl0ad of fuel between 3k and 4500
(just noticed how load maps change too quick - damn)

It looks as if the passthrough is actually scaling the MAF output.. But it definitely looks like your real lean until about 4500rpm anyway.. Your not getting any knock picked up by the UTEC, but I do see the ECU wanting to pull a little timing here and there..

I figured by seeing those numbers that you had scaling enabled..

What I found was interesting is how the MAF frequency jumps as much as 200hz and then drops, then jumps again.. Thats typically turbulence on my car, when my car feels like its stumbling (like a misfire) Thats the kind of anomoly I'd pick up, I don't get that any longer...

Anyway, the short answer is it seems like you can run Map0 if you had to.. perhaps set the scaling a little fatter if you want to do that so when boost ramps, it doesn't tip in quite as lean, but it seems like the ECU picks this up and adjusts for it after some time (It did on my car)

I don't see anything really wrong with whats going on, but since the MAF is scaled about 10-20% leaner than stock, but you have bigger injectors, your fueling is more or less fine (though a bit lean from 2000-3800rpm), but the stock ECU is thinking theres less load and running more timing..

I love seeing this data because some of it is similar to things I've seen before, and others are just unlike anything I've worked with before.
