Which road should I embark?

In search for more hp/torque, I am torn within so many choices with various budgets. Currently de-cat and on Blitz SUS Open Filter - turbo spools up faster and whooshh...whoossh is heard.

Model : EVO 8 MR JDM

Considering :-
i) SAFC II - viewable screen (may get tired after a week)
ii) e-Manage - better ?
iii) Autronics SM4 - available now?
iv) Motec 800 PnP - ? cost a bomb?

I really don't know as here in Malaysia fairy tales and nightmares are abundant on tuning done by trial n error so called experts. In the whole country, we only have three dynojets and I am confident most of them are good in a/f tuning, who wouldn't? But for ignition tuning? I doubt so...

Or should I get a logging kinda thing and do it via laptop on a daily basis?

It's not the ECU but the tuner that makes it better rather than just good huh?

Oh great, or rather just leave it as standard after all. Damn I hate being here!

All I can speak about is the S-AFC II. It's all I've used. It's so simple to learn and consistantly makes power. It's not even something you need to do on a daily basis. You get your mods done, your boost set, then get your settings dialed in. Your ignition timing will be be perfectly taken care of by the ECU.

As long as it allows logging of; timing, O2's, RPM's, and throttle position. These parameters are needed at a minimum for good WOT tuning using a piggyback unit, such as the S-AFC.
Short term and long term fuel trims should also be able to be monitored for good idle/part throttle tuning.

u r da man! U have a good write up and I would get a SAFC II and start tuning by your method.

Which logger do u use? I have yet to get one - if there is in Msia??? Saw online - Zeutronix, worried about realibility too.

I'm using a Palm m100/with hot sync cable,

this software,

and a T16-003 connector.

But this is on a OBD-II USDM EvolutionVIII and I don't know if this is compliant with JDM.
