Question XEDE? Flash? Reflash? Confused Help.

I don't understand what all the difference is, im basically getting the general idea of what they are. When everyone is saying Flash, Reflash, Xede are they all doing the same exact things? For instance an XEDE can be like $800 but a full custom flash is $400-500.
I don't understand, maybe if someone could explain or just give me a link to some data?

I'm just trying to figure this crap out as I go!

Thanks!

Ok, a flash is reprograming the stock ECU and can't be changed without sending the ECU back to the tuner. An XEDE or UTEC or a stand alone ECU, you can make adjustments on the fly as you mod. SO what I am trying to say is that if you go FLASH and make a change to your car, like adding a intake or ne FMIC you have to send your ECU back to the tuner for him to make adjustment becuase the flash you had before the mod is obsolete. XEDE or UTEC your car will not be down, you just get it tuned or tune it yourself(which I wouldnt recommend)

Utec? How come I havent really been seeing that name around a lot? Do a lot of shops use it?
I'm looking at an XEDE right now, is there anything a UTEC or an XEDE can't offer when the other can?

Like I said, do a search on all those subjects and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about those things
Really, those are controversial subjects and whenever somebody asks those questions it almost seems like they are trolling ..... Trust me these topics have led to heated arguments and not a few bannings from the forums
