placement of the utec knock sensor

placement of the utec knock sensor

just wondering where is the best place to put the utec knock sensor?

the UTEC doesn't have a knock sensor.. The Tuner Pro does.. I put mine on the head on the front of the head where the hoist tab is.. Honestly, it picks up a bunch of valvetrain noise, but I can hear any unusual noises over it..

That is the same place I have placed it but I think it may pick up a lot of false knock since the sensor ends up right next to the cam. The other thing is its directly above the exhaust manifold so it gets insanely hot. Not sure if that will cause issues or not over time but just things to think about. I am thinking of moving it to be closer to where the stock knock sensor is located on the back of the motor but havent had time to look for a spot yet.

plenty of little spots on the back of the block to put it. just getting to it will be the hard part. good luck.
