Anyone running Ecutek yet?

I see a few in some threads here and there. But not to much talk about it yet. I am torn between Ecutek and a stand alone. I hear the ecutek reflash is pretty powerful but it comes at a steep price for a reflash. Any thoughts?

Teh ecutek is only like 650 or 700 for the first time. Every other reflash is around/cheaper than a stock ECU flash. Get ahold of Doug at topspeed (www.topspeedsales.com) He'll give you a good run down of the system. I'm actually in the same boat myself, AEM or Ecutek?

Thumbs up

there is a guy here in AZ opening a shop up who can Ecutek for you. i can tell you the price cuz his shop's not open yet, but he is flashing people right now. once his 4wd mustang dyno comes in, he will open up. i can tell you that he has all 4 licenses & still charges less than everybody else. he also owns an evo with a 4G64 block, AMS GT35r kit & MoTec engine management w/ anti lag. his daily driver is a MB E55 AMG. PM if you want more details on.

if you don't have the $ for a standalone, i say get the Ecutek simply for it's flexibility. u have at least 2 fuel maps so whenever you want to run race gas you can. my buddy "antonio010" is flashed so he can either run 91 octane or 101 octane unleaded. we are also investigating the benefits that VP Racing's 109 octane unleaded will do for the flash. if you ever want to get a standalone, MoTec is the only way to go. it must be worth something if they put it on the FQ400...

Hi

I have the Ecutek reflash and HKS zorst and am really impressed with the results ! 213kw on the hubs (hub dyno like MRTs) took a few dyno runs and remaps to achieve this

I am looking for some type of OBD monitoring software, along the lines of the DeltaDash software for the scoob? does anyone have a clue where to find ?

ECUTEK Flash + K&N Drop In + 3" Cat Back Exhaust + MBC = 109mph traps with 93/VP109 50/50 mix on otherwise stock 05 EVO MR Definitely pick a good tuner.

We were looking into it. They have a nice setup for flashing the evo's. We are just trying to get it into the budget to get the starter package.
We tune alot of AEM Evo's so for now we are waiting and seeing how people are making out.
It looks like we will wait until September. But It works very well from the the data I have seen.

I just got back from Scottsdale, (DynoComp) The Ecutec is awesome! I had the UTEC in my Evo before and had alot of problems with it. I just couldn't get it dialed in perfect with no knocking. Call Richard Garcia at Dyno Comp, the flash and dyno tune is well worth the money. Any questions, PM me!!!!!

I thought the whole point of EcuTek's Evo VIII flash was that you DON'T need an MBC to hold boost to redline. I was told the the EcuTek flash was unique because it uses 100% of the factory hardware, hoses and lines to hold boost. I was told that the EcuTek flash basically turns the stock ECU into an electronic boost controller. So confused.

Sorry to confuse you. I do not have a ECUTEK just the custom dyno flash. I was the one who was confused.

Does anyone knows the tuning resolution of the ECU after it has been flashed by ECUTEK? 32x32?
