Newbie Utec problems

I just installed my utec today, and I have it in stock mode working fine. My problem or problems are that when I go to hyper terminal after setting it up ,according to the users manual I downloaded from turbo xs, the screen is blank! I have no home page, nothing. In hyper terminal it says that I am connected , but nothing happens! I have the ignition on and everything as instructed. Also how do you set up the remote map selector? The instructions on that seem very vague. I dont want to take it to a shop if I dont have to, since all I want to do for now is download the stage 2 map. But for some odd reason I cant even get the home page to come up! So damn confusing!!!!!

when the screen is blank try hitting a button on the keyboard. That normally works for me.

The map switch just plugs in. Set the switch on the UTEC to zero and the switch to zero and plug it in.

If the key thing doesn't work try flashing the UTEC again. and also make sure the flash switch is in the correct position.

Ok, well the key thing did not work. What about the other wires that are on the remote switch? Where do they go?

Ok well I tried again and hyper terminal began to load up the program but froze. So I disconnected and turned the ignition off and tried again and nothing happened.

The wire do nothing. They are used for the clutch switch in subarus. The evos clutch switch goes through the ECU so it is not needed. Just leave them alone.

Check the flash switch on the back and reflash the UTEC

windows does not recognize this file type. Thats what I get when I click on the evo utec 17 zip file. I extracted it after the download and to no avail. I have the users manual already, and I have been following its directions, but it still will not work.
