Question what to do for engine management??

O.K. I have an 03 evo, I have the buschur turbo back, upper i.c. pipe, typhoon intake, greddy type s(recirculated w/single spring), turbo xs boost controller. I installed all of that, and now I have not beat on it all to much because I have all stock comp. settings. I was thinking of having dyno flash, flash it and run an safc 2 for now, what do you guys think is the best thing to do. I am not planning on upgrading all that much more till winter.l Thanx

I would highly recommend the Dynoflash.

05 EVO MR + 3" Cat Back + K&N Drop In + MBC (Ditch Turbo XS and get a Hallman Pro. Turbo XS won't hold boost until redline.) + Custom Dynoflash ='s 109mph traps with 93/105 unleaded 50/50 mix.

Stock best trap was 101mph.

Then when ECUTEK comes out with their end user product they said there would be a discount. They are unlocking more features all the time too.

I would save the money on the AFC and get the Hallman MBC. Save the rest for replacing your clutch if yours is still stock. It's only a matter of time.

Psi Fi PowerPaq

www.psifimotorsports.com (website not complete just yet, but give em a call!)

They are HUGE in the SRT4 world (and growing more interest with EVOs in the north), but its a universal turbo Piggyback...Have had it on my evo for almost 2 yrs.. and completely love it! and you cant beat the pricetag for all the features IMO

Take a look.

I guess I will be the one to say it.
AEM is the best unit out there for this vehicle for complete tunability and power gains.
With that said, depending on your budget and what power level you will ultimately get to, a custum dyno tuned flash is a good way to go.
There are a few piggyback modules we are testing also and have seen some varying results. Some are very good with a release date of next month.
That is the middle grade way to go without spending a ton of money with good tunabilty for future mods. It will be priced between an AEM and a tuned flash.
If you need some help deciding give us a call. We would be more than happy to help you.

Welcome aboard noobes! have you tested the Xede? what do you think of the S.M.A.R.T. system? this WILL be the way to go! and I never had the AEM setup, but with weather variables, don't you have to re-tune it depending on the weather? out in Cali and the constantly sunny states ( I am jealous) it is no problem. correct? just putting in my 2c. what piggy backs are you testing and what are the "varing" results? we want to know your opinion, as we are all pretty finickey on here!

The Xede we have not tested.
I have heard very good things about that system, but we wanted a system that we can brand.
So we contacted a software company in Japan, Puerto Rico and New Zealand.
The piggyback we will have out next month will be our own built for our mother company Performance Engineering.
The AEM does NOT have weather variable issue as long as you incorpoarte an Air temp sensor with a MAP based fuel injection system. If you keep the stock MAF (which many have and we have made over 400 AWHP with it) Then you will be fine.
The cold start up with a full standalone seems to be overlooked by many tuners. We have mapped many AEM EMS units from Maine to Puerto Rico. It is guaranteed to never have an issue.
Whatever way you go make sure it is tuned by an individual that is patient with your car. DO NOT RUSH IT. Let them do their thing and the car will be A OK

Ok, Thank-you for clarifing the AEM thing, I know they make alot of power, but I heard you had to keep tuning it. (My mis-understanding) I can understand the system you want to brand, it makes good business sence. When are you putting up your site? you guys sound ok to me, and wish you all the luck, I am sure alot of us will frequent your wares! take care, Kevin

Our four sites for now are in my Sig. We just got done with the vending status and waiting for Mark to set us up.
The unit will be up on all of our sites thruout the country in matter of weeks.
We are looking at the second week of August.
Thank you for the kind words.

I haven't spoken with Dave in about two months. Let me know when the shootout is and we will drive out.
