Sorry if this is a stupid ??

I just got my Utec in the mail today, and my question = If I hook it up does the MAP that it is set on different than stock? Or is it tweaked a little bit? Thanks for any replies

It should be a base map for the Evo, or maybe stage 2 map!!!!

It is base map from TurboXS, which is NOT the same as your stock ECU. That's why you need to install UTEC at Map0, run and log a lot of data with it. Then build an ignition map base on what your ECU wants to run. And you will need to adjust the AFR accordingly with a wideband O2 sensor.

would the base map be dangerous to run with just mild mods?

no.. for hte longest time while i didn't have a wideband, i just left the UTEC on the stage 2 basemap meant for a car with TBE.

Not really but the base map that is supplied is just a starting and should be treated as such.

I actually lost about 20 WHP over the stock ECU using the Stage II map. I think it was caused by my stock ECU running a bit lean though compared to the Stage II map.
