A tune will do the same thing as an SAFC

Leaning a/f ratio will save fuel and a better SAFC but you will rob the engine of in-cylinder cooling.

The Evo responds differently to mods than most cars. On most, air filter and exhaust will help fuel economy. On the Evo, it is all dependent upon the tune. Your best bet is to stay out of boost. If you have the money, you could get a 4 cyl. beater. It really depends on how many miles you drive.

yeah, my evo's been a daily driver and w/ our other truck being a 96 jimmy that ain't too kind on the pockets either! but i've just accepted the fact that the evo is gonna be expensive and that's that - when the day comes when i can't afford her anymore then i'll just let her go...just gotta practice some discipline in finding 'pretty' mods for her!
