Alright heres the deal as of right now im not sure whether or not to go with a flash which isnt that expensive or the turboxs utec for my evo. I would just like to know what everyone else thinks i should do and where i would see bigger power gains. thank you

 

I would get the UTEC if you want to have multiple maps and like datalogging/tuning. If you want to tune and forget, I'd get a flash.

 

If you like to switch parts, try new things, go with the TXS utec. I had very BAD experience with flash! The flash i had was suppose to be a "custom" road tune but it ended up to be a copy/paste of someones previous tune. With the flash, i got 4 degrees spark advancement at peak torque.......on the utec, i got 8 degrees!

If you just want to tune it once and for all and not trying new equipment anymore, make sure you get it tuned on a dyno! So that you can get a before and after result and not "Bro thats a what i call a quality tune"...yeah AFR/timing is pretty, nice flowing transistion to look at but its nowhere near optimum.

 

i was going to start a thread like this becuase im inthe same boat. i don't know what flash you a talking about but im looking in to the EcuTek flash........ i'm try to decide between the EcuTek, Utec and the ECU+........i really like what the ECU+ has to offer but i haven't found that many people useing it........ here is a link to ECU+

 

djmikeymike i was lookin at the same ecutek flash that ur talkin about personally im startin to lean more towards the Utec only cause im constantly upgrading my car which means i would keep having to get a reflash and to me the utec seems to be better than the ecu+ that u are talking about

 

why is the Utec better????? the ECU+ is cheaper and it logs knock..... please give me all the info you can to compare the Utec to the ECU+
