Yep, I agree with Gestalt, Thats kinda what I was eluding to in an earlier post.. Look at your boost/torque curve, your getting real rich, real fast, but your running alot of timing at that point, I think running a bit leaner with a little less timing will help you out alot.

Not much to elaborate on, but the more efficient burn (leaner) will produce more exhaust volume, a little less timing will also mean you can get more expanding gases into the exhaust, and that will help your spool..

well, here is the latest. I hooked up my boost leak detector and injected 25 psi. There were 2 small leaks. Tightened one clamp and the other was in the throttle body shaft. Its small, but i think its there for good. Also preloaded the WG actuator a few turns. I didnt get anywhere. This car has 272/272, tubular header, 3" exhause everything. It should be flowing like crazy. Ime sure i usewd to get 20 psi at 37-3800 rpm. The turbl spins freely. I turned off the UTEC and went back to my flash. Talk about playing "stump the tuner" ime down to a pluged 3" racing cat.... Ill put the test pipe on soon and if that isnt it......might buy another turbo....

wow ray...im pretty damn stumped as well. thats weird how slow your boost comes on. i have the 272's now as you already know, my boost does come on later for sure, but i believe it hits full boost at and around 4k, no later. we have a very similar setup, yet you have parts that should make your flow rate better than mine. i dont know, but i do have a solution for you! ill be coming out to tucson like the second week of september. along with a friend of mine who will definitely beable to help out your situation, guaranteed. let me know if you still want in on that. Also I do know for the that a AEM EMS would help you out! Best mod ive done to my car other than cams of course. if not that doesnt matter though, because he can do u-tec as well.

ya know.. check the vacuum line to the BOV.. I wonder if its not getting adequate pressure to stay closed, or its partially open for some reason.. The Cams will slow down your spool a little.. But if your seeing it delayed that much, I wonder if maybe something is restricting or bleeding off pressure to the BOV preventing it from staying completely closed..

Well, seems like the boost now comes on a couple hundreds RPM earlier. I see that your ECU still wants to run some very advanced timing during the spool, you might as well try to run it a little leaner too. Just watch out for the knock counts... I runs 91 octane and tuned at 21 psi, but I have no problem having the AFR curve not to hit 11.8 to 12.0 untill 4000 RPM, then gradually enrich to 10.8 by 6000 RPM (to fight knocks), and lean it out a bit back to 11.1:1 by 7000 RPM.

MJ, when i was boost leak testing, the BOV would lift right at 25 psi. So i dialed in a few more turnes and got it to hold the static 25 psi. Maybe i need to go back to the 9.8 hotside....did you get the 20g yet???? I might get one also. If not that one, the 3071....Ray

Any chance your actuator is fubared? Have you inspected it for physical damage, cracks, etc.?

dont know about the actuator. I know it holds pretty tight. I had to give it a little air in order to loosen it up enough to slide off the arm. I might put the 9.8 hotside back on....

Why are you running stock ign timing? I have a pretty good timing map that works pretty well, if you want to try it I can send it to you.

Well to help you out a little bit i went out and did a log in 3rd gear, on ramp are only so long here. This is done on the MPS UTEC logger so the AFR's are next to the knock column but everything looks like it's in the right place.

sorry for the bump, but your last log, the third column from the end is fuel pull?
