P0412 Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve A Circuit Malfunction. what is this?

 

the secondary air injection system blows clean air into your cat on start up for ~60secs. It does this as part of your emissions system. There are various reserviors, valves etc as part of this system, which works of you vacuum system. Sounds like one of the solenoids or circuits is faulty. Have u done any mods recently? If not, take it to your dealer and they have to warrenty it for you, depending I think on what state u live in.

 

i live in california but the car is heavily altered to say the least. i have a test pipe in plus 3"tbe, mbc, afc, 272 cams, 780cc injectors, 255 lph fuel pump, intake, wide band o2, apexi tt, and i think thats about it, i always leave some thing out . like i said taking it to a dealer probably wouldnt be the best thing ive ever done lol. oh ya and today it threw P0414 Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve A Circuit Shorted, so i guse whatever was shorting is now gone?

 

Sounds like it. Its not something to worry about I dont think, providing your car can pass emissions. Only problem is u wont be able to tell if u get other trouble codes as the light will be on always
