Can we set up a map database?
Not sure if this issue has been tackled before but it'd be nice if the UTEC users "united" sort of, and created a database with all their maps for others to look at and even use. I know there are issues with different cars running the same map but it's something that worked quite well in the RX7/Power FC/Datalogit community and really created a lot of discussion on tuning as well.
A UTEC "member" could post the map, a full description of associated mods that would affect the map (coil overs don't count!) and how the map was created, ie. on a dyno, road, by a pro, etc...I'd list where you live and what sort of climate the car was tuned in. Naturally, all maps would be used at one's own risk. On the Datalogit forum, other users would look over maps and point out potential problems that should be fixed, making each map that much more safe.
While I think everyone should be tuned by a pro (someone who really knows what they're doing) at first, a map database would help those who have no tuner near them (like me!) and promote the product's development as well. Whatcha think?

I don't know that would really be practical, but I don't see anything wrong with people posting maps when they have mods that are commonly used. In my case I can't post maps because nobody runs anything anywhere similar to the combination I have..
And FWIW there have been many stories about other setups (AFC and whatnot) where people copy map info and subsequently grenade their motors.. so people are not very cautious when using maps and use virtually no due diligence when trying a map.
I think that this is a good idea. It will spark good discussions and people are bound to learn from each others techniques. If you are dumb enough to just copy someone else's map and run with it. That is your own problem. I will contribute all of maps for people to check out and discuss. We need to create a seperate thread for a database and start posting. I will download some maps tonight.
Yah I'll definitely attach a few of my older ones, and the new ones once I get the car back.. But the only useful data in those maps may be timing, everything else would cause most cars to run scary lean and overboost like mad..
