tuning question???

i just picked up the XD-1/LC-1 wideband (best $$$ i ever spent on my car)... So no im starting to tune and i have a couple of questions..... i have a flash on my car and a SAFCII....so here we go i did a couple of 3rd gear pulls after i installed the wideband and my A/Fs started off @ 10.3 (4000) and went to 9.6 @ 6600..... so i started out at about 3000 and took out 1%, 4500 - 6000 5%, then back to 0% at 7000........... The car pulls like a ****ing freight train never like this with the flash..... so now my A/Fs go no higher then 10.7 from 3000 -7000....... i don't want to go any higher then that because i can't see knock or timeing...... so is this a safe tune untill i get the ECUplus??? and this was done in 3rd gear and on the track! but what about the other 4 gears???? i did a log from 1st to the top of 4th just to see what was going on and this was what i found.......

1st: A/F start at 11.5 @ 3000rpm drop to 11.0 6600rpm
2st : start at 11.0 @ 3000 rpm 10.6 7000rpm
3rd : between 10.7 and 10.3
4th: 10.3 to 9.8

is ths normal???? that is a big difference between 11.5 - 9.8???? and info would be great!!!!

my car does the same thing, the afr will change slightly from gear to gear.ive been told that it does this due to the load change from gear to gear. in my opinion your tune sounds safe. if you wanted you could add +1% on top where it goes lean in the lower gears and call it a day, but to me you sound ok with what you have.

I have a LM-1 and my A/F is from 10.6-10.4 My ECU has been DynoFlashed so it does not dip at higher rpms(much easier to tune with an SAFC).

In my specific vehicle the first gear I get on it will run +/- .5 leaner then it will level out and be consistent every other gear. I think the coolant correction factor is whats altering the mixture, I soon will be trying out the famous "Race Chip" which would lock the coolant temperture the ECU sees and so should not add extra fuel to compensate.

Do you use your EGT gauge when your tuning/logging pulls?

but i thought you want to have a A/F of no more then 11.5..... if you have a A/F of 11.5 in 3rd gear that is safe but what about the other gears is it safe to have a A/F of 12.3 in first??? and what about 5th gear what happens if you have a A/F of 10 aren't you missing a alot of WHP....... sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but like i said im new to tuning...

most people tune in 3rd the hard part is if u have something like a utec etc u set ur tune and it will b slightly different for dif gears... like if its perfect in 3rd it might b slightly off in 4th etc... mine was right on and in 5th a wot i could catch a few counts of knock so i would go back and adjust for that etc... Now standalones are a dif story but ur not using one i can help with more im not the best on the site but i have learned a TON in the last 6 months or so

For right now im tuning with the AFC on top of a flash.........when i first put the XD-1 on my car without useing the AFC my A/Fs where 10.2 at best in first gear in third they where in the mid to low 9's...... my car pulled hard from 3000 to 5000 then stoped pulling...........now with the AFC im tuning to about 10.5 -10.7 it pulls so f'ing hard to redline..........of all the mods i put on my car the XD-1/LC-1 is by far the most rewarding......finally feels like i got something for my money!!!!

i will finsh this later time to look at 21 yearold college girls
