LMFAO

That video was great. I'm pretty new to this forum and all forums for that matter, don't own an EVO, YET, but all the questions i've wanted to know for when I finally get one have been answered by either browsing through Threads or searching... Not sure why it's so hard?

Can't go wrong with HKS. I wouldn't listen to these guys telling you to keep your stock intake.

You will see results, it's allready been proven.

Sure you can get more power from something else with that money, but if you want an intake get one!

I would just change the the intake pipe, and get a high flow filter for the air box. The MAF will not like having an open air filter, that has been proven time and time again. The factory intake box is good to about 500hp, also which has been proven.

If you're interested I have a Cusco intake pipe for sale for $150. It fits in place of the stock plastic unit.

Thats why all the guys that are over 500 use aftermarket intakes, right?

Ok, thats put it this way, the stock airbox is not restrictive with a K&N airfilter, you have forced induction, it suckes in as much as a car with an intake, so the second part of an intakes job is colder air, well, thats quite stupid here becasue one the air comes out of the compressor it's blazing hot and that 10 degrees u saved only resulted in a 1% increase in air density which if i remember correcly direcly related ot volumemetric efficency. So 1% increase in torque. Your intercooler isn't being pushed too hard or too fast with the current PSI so it's effective enough to remove most of that 10 degree difference so you might only see a max of 1% increase in torque. So let me ask you, would you rather spend 100-200 on sometime with very little gain or would you rather have a bigger rain with ur 100-200 dollars of mula. Price vs. effect ratio, but then again, if ur loaded y not.

^^If that was the case then everybody would stick to the stock airbox.

Good god, I've been on the forum a little over 5 months now. I've seen so many of the Intake threads. They almost never get old... oh wait, yes they do.
Like what was stated above. When searching the forum you will find that the stock air box is pretty good. A drop in filter will be fine. But, it’s your car.
By the way, the video was great.
LOL

Well most don't, because they're not too bright...

People get stupid mods all the time; that doesn't mean it's a good thing.

Exactly my point. The stock airbox is fine for making good power. Spend your money elsewhere. I rocked the stock airbox up to 400whp. I could still use it with the 3076R if I didnt 1. have a 4 inch inlet that I matched with a 4 inch intake pipe. 2. ditched the factory MAF for speed density with my EMS. If you've got a MAF, keep it happy with the stock airbox. Like I said, what I suggest is a drop in panel filter, and a 3" intake pipe. Believe me, unless you upgrade turbos, you wont outflow the airbox.

Do a search in the Dyno Flash section I have posted dozens of dyno sheets on this subject

In a nut shell

We always see intakes such as the Buschur, Injen and HKS making more power than stock air boxes and drop ins

The power is about 8 - 10 whp more with a good intake

I like the Buschur the best - its cheap and works great - but the others are also decent

True, if you really want an intake get the Apexi Dual Funnel Power Intake. Its the dry type and its dual funnel. Plus get it tune

I am saying that POST tuned a good intake will make 8 - 10 whp over the drop in

The drop in on a bone stock car is worth about 3 whp
