Anyhow just alleviated my tip in issue and this thing drives 250% better!

Before between shifts it would fall on it's face. Now it's nice and smooth. It is amazing how much different the tune is than Joeys. His mapping was off from mine by a longshot.
I noticed right away how smooth my cars power band was when i got it running. Do you have any WOT MAF Hz datalogs before the MAFTpro? When I logged before and after with UTEC i noticed that the MAF Hz was much more linear up to redline. Probally explains why our cars feel so much smoother

My car still has a few problems with tip-in. These last 2 weeks have been tough not much time to tune. Glad you got your car working.

OK, it has been frustrating, but I'm making progress. Added the boost control function and got it dialed in tonight. The forge heavy WG we use makes low boost control a lot more difficult. We find ourself setting the PSI value lower than the actual boost attained in order to get it to stop close to 20-21psi.

WOT tip in issues have been alleviated between quick shifts.

Under 3000rpms still has a random miss and tip in issues. I have played with every related setting I can think of and cannot cure it. My gut feeling is that the volumetric efficiency tables are off for the long duration 280's, sacrificing low rpm driveability. I have a suspician that stock or 264 cams would not have these quirks.

Unfortunately the dedicated logger laptop died on us so we are waiting for the new dell to come in Tues. Each day we dial in the hi-load fueling more and more. We are getting closer to perfection. With the laptop, Zeitronix and TunerPro dataloggers, we should be able to tune it as close as it gets. This tuning on the fly stuff is more time consuming and less accurate which slows our progress.

Tonight we worked on the boost and Hi Load fueling again. Also reset AFR tracking variables to new settings. For once I was pleased with the results. From a 3rd-5th pull the top of 3rd to 5th tracked 85-90% of the time to the desired A/F which is a huge advance.

More to come.

I have some tip-in problems when i shift slowly but its not to bad. The only annoying thing is when I start the car after its been warmed up I have to blip the throttle once or twice to get to idle correctly. When things calm down here I am going to start tweaking those issues. I have always done all my tuning on the street with my friend driving but we do this at night. After the hurricane there has been a curfew of 8pm

FWIW all of the setups besides the stock MAF have a bit of a tip-in issue.. Even my car with the blowthrough and proflow electronics periodically gets a tip-in stumble off idle.. only never at any other time.

And the MAF readings will certainly be alot more linear, which means its a little lean in the midrange which is why it feels smoother and stronger.. Same thing with my setup. Speed density has some quirks with tip-in and other VE type stuff simply because there are several conditions where VE values can overlap depending on the boost/vacuum/TPS/temp you end up in.. Typically it results in stumbles or other minor issues.. It can be worked through but its a little more difficult to zone into than dealing with a blowthrough MAF.

There are some may be some non-linearities with Speed Density, but they are minor. With some tuning I think we will get Joey and TTP's cars running excellently.

With the Proflow, all tuning was done with respect to the incoming airflow. there was no load axis for the tuning map. The Pro has more flexibility.

The large cams do shift the VE around a bit, this will be much easier to see when we get TTP's laptop working and take a little data.

If we can identify a condition that needs a feature or tuning hook added to the software, I'm ready to go.

Regards,

Bob

I need some time with a maftpro Unit to be able to make suggestions.. Thats not going to happen for at least 2 weeks, and/if I can afford a unit.
