at what voltage do you consider it a knock event?

Just curious, and all of the "knock" searches I did on the ecu+ forum came up with things I wasn't looking for.

I don't have the new version. But 2.4 -2.5v sounds good to pull some timing and/or add fuel. Could probably be over safe and pull 1-2 degrees around 2.1-2.2. But that might be a little extreme.

yeah there is really no need to pull timing at 2.1-2.2 volts, if you want to stay on the really safe side i guess you could add a little fuel at that voltage. 2.4 volts pulling timing has worked really well for me.

It is hard to say, I noticed that after I installed cams, my "normal knock signal" was completely different. The engine is now noisier which I believe the sensor picks up. I still am not 100% sure what constitutes a knock event but I basically pull a log then look for any spikes that weren't there on my base map. Anyone have any other ideas?

I am going to do some more testing with some back to back runs this weekend at various timing settings to see what I can get for results.

I noticed that you guys that say 2.4v have cams. What about us guys without cams? 2v? Thanks

when you log, just look at what voltage does timing get pulled and/or where does the timing stay the same instead of going up slowly.

That would be nice, but the problem that I was getting timing was not being pulled by the ecu and I was getting bad detonation, so bad that I could hear it. On 100 oct and above I can actually add a bunch of timing, but on JUNK California 91 **** water I have to pull at least 5 degrees of timing from 5k on up, otherwise I see some high knock voltages. But I would like to get a better base knock curve, so I want to pull a ton of timing out of it and run it to redline a few times and see how consitent it is. If it remains consitant I should be able to pick out the points that timing needs to be pulled rather than pull bulk timing out over a large rpm range.

Do you mean that you had to pull timing from the stock tune or from your tune. I hope you weren't getting detonation from the stock tune. I am worried that I am seeing some knowck too, and I am trying to figure out how to address it. Is it more advantageous to pull timing or add fuel? Also, what about boost, mine is set at 20.5psi, and maybe that is slightly too high. I need to get an alky kit so that I dont have to worry about this. Thanks

well remember, you end up pulling timing when you add fuel via the ecu+ since its messing with the airflow instead of controlling injectors directly. If you really wanted to get technical you would want to pull timing as well when you are leaning out the fuel. Im not sure what the relationship would be, if its linear, etc.

Joeracer: not sure what your mods, ecu+ settings are and boost level is, but boost level is a big factor on 91 gas (i just moved from socal so i know how crappy it is haha).
