it is pointless to buy an electronic boost control if I plan to get an AEM ESM?

A gm boost solenoid is all that is needed with AEM. works very well.

 

It is very pointless. I use to use aem on my honda with gm solenoid. It is the greatest. There is a wastegate duty map which you calibrate to control boost once you have that solenoid hooked up. very easy to install also only 2 wires few extra vacuum lines
