Tuning for cams

AMST is having a cams Xmas special, and I'm sersiously thinking for getting the HKS 280 with AEM cams gear setup.

Right now, I have a mail-in Dynoflash, and I'm wondering if:

1) I should send it back for another flash, including the newly installed cams

2) Take the hike up to TurboTrix and get a real dyno tune. Whats the cost?

3) Do I need a SAFC in order to get a proper tune?

Thanks for your help!

stephen .

you dont need an afc for a proper tune. And your probably losing about 20whp without a custom tune. So if it makes sense then just get the mail in .. BTW we do mail in's as well

If your getting cams/cam gears installed, you want a custom tune. Extract all the possible hp/tq as possible w/ a custom tune.

with the hks 280 do you need other things for the head like springs or vavles.

I'd put stiffer springs in myself only because if your pumping a large turbo in the higher rpms, valve float can be an issue. stiffer springs and a lighter valve train will definitely help out.
