Lean on high end?

I have this very weird problem. Right about 2000rpm when I open 100% throttle and hold it, sometimes when it passes 4000rpm, it goes very lean, ie the reading goes off on the tuner. I let go of the throttle and it takes at least 4-5 secs before the reading comes back. No matter how much I richen that area, it still shoots off the lean scale. Funny thing is, it only happens sometimes and it is normal other times where I am seeing 11.1-10.9 to redline. I just dont get it. I know I am richening it since on lower gears, like 1 or 2nd, it reads 10.1 or less when I 100% throttle it the same way. Its just 3rd and 4th that have this problem. Is my tuner going bad or it is really my tune that needs correction? The indication is when the readings do lean, to a point where it doesnt show anymore, it takes it a while before it shows again even when I reduce throttle to a lower rpm.

Thanks again!

Alfred
