Question What should my boost gauge say?

Guys, my IX MR is still stock -- except for Defi BF gauges I just had installed. My question is what should my boost gauge (bar) read at max and during full boost? I did use the search button for this, but it returned an @ssload of boost issues , but not desirable stock boost levels.

Please chime in!

I think max boost is 19psi or 1.5 bar. Don't quote me on this though because I haven't installed a boost controller yet.

Hey I have a New Stock IX too. I dont know what the Boost should be cuz i dont have any Gauges yet. My Stock 8 boosted up to 19 then tapers to 16. The 05s Would Hit 21, then taper to 19. So Im thinking around 21 then down to 19 should be where your at? How much boost are you seeing?

I'm seeing a peak of 1.4 bar (or 19.6 psi -- I think) that tapers to 1.2 bar. I'm wondering if I should be tightening hoses.

BTW, thanks for the input guys!

This is normal, I asked the same question when i got my car. 1.4 might even be more then what mine peaks at.

I am not sure how accurate the Defi BF is. My stock VIII reads 24psi at WOT, tapering to 19psi (1.65 to 1.31 bar). I tapped the boost line in the location recommended by the Defi BF instruction manual.

Stock Boost

05 - 20.5psi taper to 16psi/ 1.41bar taper to 1.1bar

06 - 20.1psi taper to 16psi/ 1.38bar taper to 1.1 bar

1 bar = 14.5 PSI

any idea what rpm the IX reaches the peak boost spike (20.1psi) at? Not sure if my boost is coming on too late...
