"ti ti ti ti" at max boost

Hey, got a strange sound at max boost, sounds like "ti ti ti ti ti" over and over again coming from the boost control solenoid or air intake/bov. does not happen at a launch or heavy accel (race driving). mostly happens when i accel in a higher gear than i should be in ( city driving) is this normal?

things that could effect this

turboxs dtec (25psi)

doubt it would be
turbosmart bov recirculating
hks race suction

Lower your boost, 25 psi too much for 93 it may be detonation what you are hearing.

Your boosting too HIGH! I'm custom tuned at 22psi and with this cold weather, my boost has been up to 24. I started getting the same thing your describing and that's when I noticed the boost. I turned it down and now no noise.

You shouldn't run that much boost. 23psi I would say would be the MAX and that's cutting it close. Go safe with 22psi.

It is not knock. The sound you are hearing is coming from your boost control solenoid. Regardless, you made a wise choice by turning the boost down.

I run as much boost as the stock turbo will hold on pump gas. I get no knock, though I do have control over my timing and have a WBO2 installed in the car.

What I wanted to add was that at full boost I was getting a sound that the description above reminded me of. At lower boost it would go away. Turns out it was the head lifting Oil and coolant were both leaking out onto the tranny, and eventually the combustion seal leaked as well. I was so used to running studs on the DSMs for so many years I forgot these cars had stretchy head bolts...

My Greddy type s does tick in the situations you decribed, my theory is that on normal WOT pulls there is too much other noise to hear it, but at relatively low boost at lower rpm it's pretty obvious. My HKS EVC doesn't do this, at least not audibly.
