Unhappy Please help!

So last night i went to tune my car and i haven't plugged into my head unit in while, so i plugged my laptop in and tried to open it up for tuning but i wouldn't connect! it just kept saying connecting to head unit but it never did!!! i looked at the all connections to the ecu and power and they are all still connected. any ideas?

Try unplug the serial cable and then plug them all back in. It should work the second time.

If the car's running with the ECU+, it's gotta be putting out "stuff" to the COM port. Have you tried using HyperTerminal to see if there is any data on the port you're connected to? Also, if you e-mail me, I can send you some software that will check all of the COM ports for ECU+-looking data and report back exactly what it sees.
