Keep the Xede or sell it?

First off, all I have ever used is the Xede, and LOVE it, but it is getting difficult to get it tuned when I need to. I live out in the Cornfields of Indiana, and to find a XEDE tuner out here is difficult.( because one doesnt live near me!) My closest one is in Georgia at Dyno4mance. Yes AMS can tune it, but I feel guilty bringing in "someones elses food" for dinner.

I have a stroker motor going in next week. my mods are in my signature, and all stay the same, with the exception of the larger injectors and the stroker.

Questions I ask for you to answer if you can.

1. should I disconnect the XEDE and drive with an AMS flash, and forget it?

2. Should I get AMS to tune the XEDE.

3. Do I need the Xede to better bring out the "beast" in my mod. list?

4. Should I get a Engine Management setup where I can get tuned locally?

Thanks in advance. AGAIN, and I stress this, I have absolutely NO qualms with the unit, but getting it "dialed" in is dependent on flight ticket prices, gas prices, and availability of getting space in a "dyno-room" I cant have the beast running 3psi of boost for a few months until I can get a tune, I might as well take up public transportation or skateboarding.

Is there something out there which can go with a "tune it and forget it" scenario? Should I take classes, or further edumukate myself into the intricate tables and tune the car myself? will the SMART system do away with dyno sessions?

Lots of questions, lots of Starbucks in my bloodstream, so sorry about the long lecture!

Ok, let me rephrase this. If you were in my position, what would you do? I haven't heard any feedback on the stroker/Xede set-up, or dynograph other than the occasional *chime*.

They probably wouldn't know that, as they probably dont tune the XEDE enough too know that. I am just looking for ease of tuning, and places to tune. I didn't mention standalone, if the AMS flash is good enough, so be it. I am fine with that.

i thought you meant a standalone!
also if you sell it how are you gonna change maps when running higher boost? with a 2.3 stroker you should be able to run a lot more boost

I am totally clueless on what to do. If someone has the Xede and a stroker, with great driveability, and great dyno numbers, nobody is talking. I am just curious on if they are a "match". Will my set up and mods be compatible with a Flash alone, or will my gains be MUCH higher with the Xede, or other engine management. I have the Xede, but I dont "manage it" I am at the becon-call of a Dyno day, for someone else to manage it, and squeeze all the HP out.

I would suggest the 4th option. I had a Xede and it was great for the short time I ran it. But I know how it feels to not be able to get a tune when you want it.

There is a guy in Ohio(dayton area which is relatively close to indy), named Sean Powers who is an Autronics dealer. He has a good reputation and is one of the advanced instructors for EFI101 classes. If you need an extra option. I am sure AMS can tune an autronics as well, but I do not know if they may prefer to do an AEM box.

Yes, thanks. So far noone has answered on the question of who has the Xede and a stroker, and what their impressions are.

I think there are no replies because there have not been many who have done it. Why not get the AMS flash and use the xede for 100 octane and smart? Wouldn't be that be the best of both worlds?

smoked, with your luck this seems the most fool proof and safe solution. Autronics is good but I dont like the fact that tit has no knock sensor. As for the AEM... with your luck who knows what may happen
