I would roll with the TBE, MBC, K&N Drop-in Filter, with a Flash

I was custom flashed when I was bone stock and there was a substantial difference. I never had it dyno'd before and after though, but I will recommend it even if you plan on leaving the stock exhaust alone. The gains are really huge and very noticeable!

93. I have no plans of running race gas until much later in this car's life.

While you CAN make big gains (40-45whp+) with just a flash, I really wouldnt suggest it. On a stock exhaust I imagine the EGTs are uber high

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I heard that 24-25psi is feasible with a IX MR. Would this be true if I was to keep the stock exhaust? As of now I am planning on purchasing the following:

Buschur Racing Lower Intercooler Piping (Safety reasons), Forge UNOS MBC, EcuTek ECU Reflash with a Full Tune (Possibly TurboTrix or Ivey Tuning).

Would 24psi tapering to 20ish be a bad idea?

Thanks,
Carl

ams raised boost by .1bar with a flash and no mbc so you dont need the mbc...

There is a member of this forum running 12.1s with a stock exhaust, full tune, MBC, plus other odds and ends with no issues at all.

I'm not sure if that was directed at me, but to raise the boost to 22+ psi I am almost positive I would need a MBC. Correct me if I am wrong.

I had my bone stock IX MR with 350 miles flashed by a local tuner. The difference was night and day, absolutely worth it on a stock IX.

I'm sorry, but I highly doubt the car is capable of going low 12's with just a flash. I'd definitely believe it if he had a turboback as well, but no way on stock exhaust, maybe mid 12's. And yes, you would definitely need a MBC to raise the boost to 22psi, but I honestly wouldn't do that on stock exhaust with all that backpressure.

There are timeslips to prove it, but I am not really concerned with that. I didn't believe it at first either.

Thanks for the advice, hopefully others will chime in as well.
